Our Crew: are all experienced kiters with plenty of experience in the local Maui conditions. They are the brains trust for local info. many of them are also certified Kiteboarding instructors and are especially able to answer specific questions. If you need a lot of assistance in a particular area we suggest getting a lesson, caddy or coach for the day.

All launching: All launches from Kitebeach club's crew and members is strictly voluntary. And is the responsibility of the rider to choose a launch mate, and to give the correct and clear go/launch signal. Any crossed lines, bad timing, incorrect positioning etc. is the sole responsibility of the rider, and no fault of the launcher. Same goes for kite catching.

Our Location: Action Beach launch site at Kite Beach. Meet at the Action Sports white van. Trainer Kiting 9-11am. Water kiting 11am till Sunset. No kiting allowed after sunset. Beginner kiters please check in for lessons before kiting at this spot. Intermediate , and advanced kiters check in with our staff for your kitebeach intro. Certification classes available by appointment. All other Club activities 11-5pm 7days. Note: certain club activities are only available for certified/insured riders. Please ask about our rider certification program. People wanting to become volunteer Club assistants can enquire at our office on Amala place. Secure gear day-storage available on-site.

The Upper launch Site: at Naish Beach and the Keyhole is for intermediate & upwind riders only. There are several rock jetties that present a serious obstacle when launching at this location. if launching at the upper site. be sure to launch with an assistant, and stay as far away from the rocks as possible.

Overnight storage: only available at the Kite Club office. Club guests under 12years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Transport to-from Kitebeach available by appointment. Keep your membership cards available at all times. The beach captain has the final say on the "go" or "no-go" for the activities depending on the conditions of the day. Entry to some activities will be limited to riders of a particular certified level. Remember to keep your rider card current to your ride level, and keep your membership current.

Check the conditions each day: Every rider should check the weather conditions each day. Be aware of any marine warnings  and high wind, & high surf advisories and warnings. The wind/sea conditions inshore may also be different to the general marine forecast. The Kitebeach area often has stronger wind than the surrounding areas, and stronger than the wind report which may be an average for the area. Wave conditions at the site may cause difficulties to inexperienced riders. Shore-break and surging waves make launching difficult. Be sure to check in with the beach captain for local launching advice before entering the water. Your safety is our concern. We want to keep all our riders safe and in control. Don't be afraid to ask questions, or ask for assistance if you are unsure about anything. For real time weather info go to the Kite Beach wind report or Call 808-871-5857

Onshore Winds: Onshore winds bring beasties in the form of jellyfish. Jelly fish like the Portuguese man'o'war "BlueBottle" jellyfish will get blown into inshore areas with sustained onshore winds. they may be visible along the shoreline ands blue air filled sacks wit long blue strings attached. Do not touch these they sting. If you are allergic to bee stings you may have a reaction to these. If you are this sensitive type, report any stings and call the lifeguard if necessary.

Offshore Winds: We do not recommend riding in offshore winds. There is no boat service to bring you back in. Lifeguards may not always be available for rescues, and then when they do rescue you they are not obliged to bring in your gear. You may have to ditch your gear. Side-off "easterly" winds are ok.

Safety Gear: If you forgot your helmet or kite leash just ask us for one. Always use a kite leash! We do not recommend using board leashes. According to the consensus of the international kiteboarding community. It is considered too risky to use a board leash when kiting. We strongly advise against using them on Maui. Board leashes may cause the board to recoil into the rider or may become entangled in the kite's lines and could cause a malfunction of the kite's safety devices.

Regular Lessons and Kite Schools: We strongly recommend getting professional kiteboarding lessons from a certified instructor. For all the information on lessons we recommend going to Action Sports Maui or the Maui Sports Unlimited kiteboarding schools. Be sure to ask for your kiteboarder certification card, and the rider insurance program.

Rules & Guidelines: Ask for your free copy of the Maui Kiteboarding Guidelines and Kite Area Map. These are available at the Action Van, and at the KiteClub office. or ask the on site Beach Captain for one. for more detailed info on teh local kiteboarding rules and maps go to the Maui Kiteboarding Association website.

Emergency Phone: There is a phone for emergency use at the Kite School van, always call 9-1-1 in an emergency.
